Plus 2 window rubbers/chrome strip

I’m finding it difficult to fit the chrome strip that runs along the bottom of the window. I think the problem is being made worse by the way I’m trying to seat the outer window strip rubber. There is a lip to this rubber that can either be fitted such that it goes between the chrome strip and the door, or over the top of the chrome strip. Which is correct?
The red car in the photo shows it going over the top of chrome strip, the yellow car shows it being trapped between the chrome and the body.I should be grateful if as many plus 2 owners as possible could take a look at their cars and let me know which is correct.

My car is as per the yellow car.
If it helps, the rubber seal sits inside the edge of the fibreglass door with the "lip" of the seal sitting over the top edge of the fibreglass and then the chrome strip on top.

Thanks, I’ve been trying to fit as per red car and not succeeding, so yellow car method looks easier to do

Wow, I’ve been truly deafened by the responses. So far either from photographic evidence or forum response I have two people who favour the red car method and two who have gone the yellow car route, so the jury is clearly still out.
I’m only asking that Plus 2 owners take a quick look at their cars and simply reply “red car” or “yellow car”. Am I asking too much??

Yellow car, but I've removed and refitted the chrome strips paying no attention to this. So decent chance my is wrong.
I am planning this job in the near future and will likely go red car. I think it's better for any water to be directed over the chrome strip rather than behind it

Thanks both, I agree about red car being better to prevent water ingress behind the chrome strip. The new clips I got from Paul Matty’s were a different design to the ones I took off (probably the original ones) I think they make fitting the strip a bit more awkward. It would still be nice to know if there was a factory preference red vs yellow or whether it was down to who did it on the day.

I don't take it out in the rain or damp but the weather is hard to predict here. Can be nice sunny day and few mile down the road there a "random" thunder storm and massive downpour. So you get caught out.
So far I managed to avoid this but one day it will happen (possibly on up coming road trip) so figure best to work towards it...

I’m just rebuilding my Plus 2 doors and after some head scratching I’d decided on yellow car. I didn’t take it apart so had nothing to go from. My problem is the metal backed felt strip that apparently goes on the inside. Sue Miller sent me the strips and clips but I’m struggling to work out how they are supposed to be fitted. Any photos would be very welcome as the parts list diagram and manual are not clear.
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine!

Photo borrowed from lotusmarques.com, not that great but should show how the clips are fitted.

Its metal strip - Seal - Door skin - clips. So the seal is trapped between the metal strip and inside of the door. You need very short screws to make sure they can't come in contact with the glass.
