Window frames.

PostPost by: davidj » Sat Oct 02, 2021 11:14 am

Good morning.

I have just fitted the side window frames on my s3 and there is a small gap between the frame and the door top on the front inside. See picture. What, if anything, should fill it? Silicon? Rubber seal?

Thanks in advance for advice.

D.

David,
I have just put some silicon sealant in there, rightly or wrongly.

Thanks. I was thinking of using silicon too. Was the gap filled when the car was originally built?

Morning David,

Seeing as you have your doors apart perhaps you can help me... do you know what thread the bolt is which goes into the captive nuts at the bottom of the window frames?

I can't find bolts to fit and consequently my window frames rattle like hell!

Thanks

1/4 UNF - top bolts must NOT be more than 1" long or you will bust the glass!! D
