Carpet fixing

Good day to you all,
The attached picture shows passenger footwell looking forward. Can anyone confirm that the small (5mm) holes #1-4 are for carpet retainers and if so how they are installed, and that the larger (1cm) #5 hole is purely a drain hole to be sealed with a closed grommet.
I was expecting the drivers side to be a mirror but only holes 1 and 5 exist. Is this correct?

iirc the male part of the fasteners are screwed through the fiberglass (riveted or with screws/retainers), and the female part is pinched clamped onto the carpet, I believe I got a set from Sur Miller 6-7 years ago when I installed them on my blue S4.

You should have 4 fixings on each footwell mat. Mine also came from Sue Miller with a carpet set and instructions on how to fit them. They are widely available on ebay search "Veltex Carpet Fasteners"
I also have hole #5 in both footwells - plugged and sealed.
