Windscreen tie rod.

Good morning,
Please could someone do me a big favour and send me a pic of the area where the windscreen tie rod connects to the skuttle. Assembling my car, using the original fixing hole, the new rod is pushing back the crash pad and leaving a significant gap to the windscreen seal which looks crude. However, this may be normal. The car is a S3, but I guess this area was the same for all the later cars.
Ta,
David

Something doesn`t look right to me.
On mine the tie rod does not push back the crash pad. It presses down on the top of it making a depression at that point.
The tie rod is a 5mm one from Sue Miller.
On yours, I cannot make out where it is fitted.
Hoping to help

Hi David,
I hope it helped.
All is well in Burnley, but now you have an advantage on me. you know or can find out where Burnley is.
Think pennine moors, small villages and the occasional manufacturing town.
Now where are you as there is no entry on your heading ?. Give us a clue, maybe just a continent or even a hemisphere.
Keep going with the car it is the best one of the range.

David, I forget everything, ask the wife, she will tell you. It comes with advancing age.
Someday we will meet at a show or something and I will looking forward to it, If I remember to turn up.
Cheers
