Hello,2 questions this time. How is the battery fixed in place on a +2,mine has always had one clamp near the neg earth lead,is there supposed to be one on the pos side?. Also the trim panel covering the tank, does anybody know what fixings go on the 2 holes on the bottom of the panel(I am getting fed up with the cable straps)
Thanks Steve.
Thanks for the info

I originally had a flanged plate bolted to the fibreglass on the positive side.
Now the clamp (which I made up) for the negative side has a lug on top to hold a length of 6mm threaded bar with wing nut brazed to one end, which screws into a nut brazed to a small plate fixed to the fibreglass in the wheel well.
The clamp is secured to the bobbin in the floor by 5/16" UNC bolt with a Tommy bar brazed to the head.
The fibreglass battery cover is required for competition.

My battery has a "serrated" molding at the lower edges. Possibly most have the same ?
I fitted a small L shape bracket on the RHS (+) that hooks into the serration. On the RHS I made a small bracket that sits in a similar position and also curls around the battery to prevent fore/aft movement. I have yet to drive the car to know how successful it is, but it feels solid.
