Would anyone have a source or possible lead on a new windshield in the U.S. for a 69 Elan? It is my understanding that Pro Source is now out of business. I have checked with RD and Bean with no luck. Ray at RD suggested Pilkington Classics, but was told you have to have a dealer account to purchase.

Unless things have changed you don’t need a commercial account to order a windshield from Pilkington.
But, they do want to deliver to a commercial address. Do you have a friend that has a business (if not you) where it can be delivered?
That’s what I did.

A few years back a few of us (about 10) ordered Type 26 windshields from Pilkington Classic glass - they shipped to those who did not have a commercial address to the nearest Pilkington warehouse for pickup. In my case that was in Tacoma WA. A pal located nearby picked it up for me and I later did a road trip off our rock to get it.
I had bought it as a "just in case" situation - finally replaced the original a year ago, after 55 years of sand blasting and stone chips.
I will sell it now tho - it has the advantage well established "patina" !!

Hello Seewin,
Where are you located? I bought one of those Pilkington classics windscreens several years ago. It is very lightly used. I may have it available soon.

Dan

I contacted Pilkington again yesterday. I was informed that the "Classics" division had closed, and Mr McCool the contact that was referenced in another thread had retired when they closed. I was also told that the entire inventory of classic glass was moved to the warehouse in Ohio. She checked their inventory, and told me there were no Elan windshields. I have not been impressed with the company based on the 2 calls I have made over the past 2 weeks.
