What is this part?

Putting my Super Saftey back together and I have come across I part that I cannot figure out what it is. I think that it goes somewhere behind the dash board . I am stumped. Any suggestions appreciated

Looks like the support for the trunk latch.

I agree and think its for S4 or later, possibly S3 as well

I confirm it's an S3 boot lock retaining bracket, the lock barrel goes through the round hole

Thanks guys. The part got put in the wrong box when I was taking things apart.

Looks like the bracket fitted vertically behind the number plate inside the boot which mounts the lock
