Chassis Number

PostPost by: Woody M » Mon Nov 26, 2018 1:46 am

I am resurrecting an early S2 (26/4128) I recently demated body and chassis. I found the chassis number - which is a number, the existence of which, I was unaware. It is 26A701. The car's number is the aforementioned 26/4128 and the Body Number is 3665. Does that number mean anything to you more experienced Lotus owners?
Thanks! Woody Menear

Per the Lotus Parts List, 26A0701 is the part number for the chassis.
There is no cure for Lotus, only treatment.

You'll find the chassis no on the top surface of the frame by the RH (carb side) engine mount.
