S3 Door fit

I know the topic has been discussed before and cutting the door skin and re-forming seems to be the normal route to achieve a good fit around the lower rear corner. I noticed yesterday a company on eBay selling new doors for S1,2,3 and 4s , would a new door also solve the problem , ie is the distortion in the door or is it in the body meaning a new door would be exactly the same
Cost wise the doors are ?170 each , I imagine time and materials to cut the existing doors would amount to more

Depends where they got the moulds from.
The distortion is in the door, but not all S4s/ Sprints suffered from it. If the moulds were made from a ?good? donor car, then you may be ok, buy you won?t know until you offer it up to the body.

On our S3 one door was badly crazed and sort of delaminating so, about 10 years ago Santa brought me a new door. I don`t remember where from, presumably Lapland. I had it professionally fitted and it stuck out just like the originals.
Subsequently, maybe 3 years later, tired of being told I hadn`t closed the doors properly, I bit the bullet and did the "cut and shut" with trepidation. With a little care it was remarkably straightforward and really worthwhile. Chipsaway repainted the door shuts for a nominal amount and I`ve been delighted with the result ever since.
