Spare wheel well colour

Could someone tell me what colour the external surface of the spare wheel well of a +2 130/5 should be. Mine is at the moment body colour, but I'm not sure if that is correct,

I think the entire underside is unpainted, so the paint ought to end at the body mold line

Of course it probably varied over time, but I cannot think of any neat way to break the paint line if not at that part line

As said above.... I think the original finish is a mixture of over-spray:- filler, primer & topcoat.
Personally I prefer a layer of black under-seal type material that finishes at the join, this is may prevent some stone chipping.
