Headlamp unit removal!!

As a follow up to my last post I removed the headlamp units from the pods. A fairly straight forward job if you realise that the release tang for the chrome trim can be accessed through the drain hole at the base of the pod, I suspect most of you know this already.

One of my pods looks as though it may be a replacement as it is lighter than the other which also carries a tag B2.6 which I assume is an id number,,,see what you think.

May I point out that there should be no need to access the spring catch through the drain hole. I made the tool for releasing the rim, which is shown in the workshop manual. Section M page 89.
It is just a sheet metal hook which fits behind the rim to pull it off.

Thanks Eric...I'll take a look

The gap, on the o/s headlamp trim was almost none existent in fact it was touching the pod.
