Hole in O/S dash/

I am just refitting the dash panel on my 130/5, what is the hole in the dash for between the speedo and fresh air vent? in the workshop manual it says it's the ignition/starter switch but mine has a steering column lock/ ignition, would this be the bonnet release on a 1975 car?
