Unless you fancy buying everything else to make it a Lotus Plus 2 again, your kit-car idea sounds about right. For what you'd spend on all the Lotus bits you could probably just buy a decent Plus 2 already assembled.

I just want to know which version it is, obviously understand it would not be worth restoring. But it is structurally sound and prepared and primed shell is up for ?3,200 on ebay. Can anyone help me identify anything about it as do not know where to start,
Thanks Ian
Thanks Ian

Ian,
it is an Elan Plus 2 that has had the roof cut off.
You are missing the roof and maybe more importantly the windshield surround that is part of the entire roof structure.
My personal opinioin, which is worth what you are paying for it. is that what you have has very little to no market value. The cost to resurrect is beyond the value.
what about the doors? do you have them?

I dont have farce book but i could see the pic.
So i see a plus 2, chopped in order to make a soft top.
Value of it would be what ever you could get, but id not be expecting much.
If you were to consider a resto, id be considering a fully built one, like the red one in the for sale section. Much cheaper probably.
Where to start. Ebay it after putting it up here first.
Just my thoughts, no harm meant.

someone needing a front or rear section might have interest.
Depends on the condition of your fiberglass. From the picture it does not look pristine.
you might get a few hundred if you found the right buyer and yours is in better shape.
depends on how long you are willing to sit on it.

No worries am only after honest opinions about it, as unsure what to do with it as it stands.
Many thanks Ian

A picture of the front, face on and of the rear showing the silencer recess would narrow down the age. The expensive parts are missing! Also.. there may be a body number along the top edge of the engine bay, just to the side of the heater .
