Technique's For Lifting ?

There has to be a safe way to lift a +2 on a 2 post 4 arm lift.

I finally revived an old lift an hope to utilize it working on my +2. Question is, HOW DO I LIFT THE CAR SAFELY ie; not crack the fiberglass, or distort the body and stress it?

One thought was use grade 8 bolts attached to a frame of sorts . The bolts would be inserted 2 1/2" into the jack points and be shimmed approximately 2 " to clear the sill/pan. The shims would rest upon the base of the jack points and therefore carry the weight of the car on the four jack points. To stabilize each side, the bolts would run through a flat 2x4 run parallel with the sills. 2 bolts on right with a 2x4 stretcher and the same on the left . Each side would then sit upon the lift arms, as usual, under the jacking points.

Do I need this? Do I need more bracing? Throw it all away and use a tried and true method already devised? I certainly wouldn't want to twist the sills off and have the car fall on me.

Looking forward to your responses!

P.S. Where there any John Player Special +2 S130 cars imported to the US?

Regards!
