Boot trim

PostPost by: chrishewett » Sat Oct 08, 2005 7:05 am

I am now about to start trimming out the boot on my +2. Could anyone supply me with pictures of how it was originally trimmed? There are some brackets around the sides which I assume once supported the removable floor but I am not sure if they were original.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Chris,

I tried to do the same earlier this year but gave up trying to emulate the original set up as I couldn't find out enough detailed information.

I have trimed the boot, though, and now have a flat floor with removable sections - one for the spare wheel and one for a stowage compartment (currently used for tools).
I can send some photos if you want them.
The main structure is wood (easy to use for a test setup) but if the whole thing is stable and doesn't fail, I plan to replace the wooden supports with hollow section ally.

Regards,

Hamish.

Hamish,

Although a Sprint owner, I'd also appreciate your photographs/ideas.

Regards.

I have a set of photos taken before and during the boot refurbishment (it is still on going!) of my S4 FHC which may be of use. The boot, with the exception of the floor carpet is original. If you let me have your email address I could send you them.

Regards,

Karl

Guys,

I dig out the photo's. It's a few months since I took them so I can't remember the exact detail. I'll shoot some new ones if necessary.

sg - can you give me your e-mail address please? Mine is [email protected].

Regards,

Hamish.
