Under bonnet paint?

Does anybody know if the underbonnet area on the Elan + 2s was painted in body colour or in matt black when the cars came out of the factory?

I am in the process of a full restoration, and want to put the car back to as near original as possible!

Under bonnet paint should be.......I.C.I. Semi-Matt Black (Belco Cellulose) I. C. I. ref. No.4523. This info. came from Sue Miller.
