Paint Color ---- One of our favorite subjects

OK, I have an S2 that will need paint. I have the color picked out which in itself is a major accomplishment. The problem is I don't know what the shade of blue is called. I looked at the list here on the forum, which is a good piece of work but didn't see what I'm looking for. It's a blue/grey color. I actually have a small can of Lotus touch up with the part number but no color name. It's part number A036B6431S . Does anyone have any idea what color that may be? I believe it's a 1965 or 1966 color. Thank you.

I can't see that reference there but you might come up with something helpful.

Hi Frank, do you want to match the colour or are you just curious as to what the name is?
To match, you could have a bit of your touch up can tested by a spectrometer (eh?) to give the colour breakdown. Otherwise enjoy the hunt. In a perverse way it's part of the fun of owning an old car.... sometimes.

George is painting his car one of the blues...your options for the S2 are Medici, and possibly French and Wedgewood. Have a look at the pics on the topic.

Sad Lotus and Elan in the Forest, thank you for the replys. I love the color and realize I can break the can open and probably get a hardened sample matched but I would like to know the color. When the car is finished, everytime someone comes up and says "what a beautiful color", I'd like to know the name of it and not say it's "A036B6431S".
I've had this little touch up can for probably 17 or 18 years. It's as hard as a rock. Actually, the can itself has such a patina, I dread the thought of trying to get it open.
I'll take pic of it tonight and post a pic of the can tomorrow. I can't believe it's so hard to find out what color it is, especially when considering I have the part number.
Oh well, you are correct, it's the hunt that is the most fun!
