Seat Belt Replacement

Hi all
I'm looking at replacing the seat belts on my Elan +2, because firstly they?re looking a bit tatty and also could be an issue on the next MOT.
The questions is, are the belts particular to the Elan or common to other cars and are they easy to get hold of.
Also the type I have are like aircraft seat belts they?re a bit of a pain and also look untidy, so can I upgrade to something more modern (with a rigid female end) and finally, are they easy to fit.
Advice from anyone that has experience of this would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Kets,
Had one of my "aircraft" style belts fail last year. Replacement was easy, and replacement systems can be obtained from http://www.quickfitsbs.co.uk/. I ended up retaining the buckle and the guys at quickfit (no connection to the tyre chain) just incorporated a new inertia system.
cost: about 50 quid
Service excellent
cheers
Tim
PS I have no connection with these guys
