Hi all, happy new year to you all.
Can anyone tell me which doner car the chrome trims came from that fit on the sills on the Elan?? I have looked at some old postings and cannot find any reference to them, mine are missing and while I could plug the holes I would prefer to fit some if I could find some.

I think that the trims were unique to the S3 / S4 SE cars. There have been a couple of sets on UK eBay over the past few months, which sold for about ?50 or so. Paul Matty stocks the chrome trim for the Plus 2 (which is longer and wider), so it may be worth contacting him to see if a repro set is available for the S3 / S4 Elan.

I replaced the ones on my +2S130/5 with a pair bought from Donnington. I was told they were off a 1970s Elite and they are the narrower rounded type, not the bevelled (proper +2?) ones. I like the look of these better, and I think they are the same section as the Elan S/E ones. I just had to cut them down an inch or so (different amount each side!!), and even managed to fold the ends over to avoid having that nasty piece of foam in each end. They are easy to work with as they are made of aluminium. It was a struggle to fit them onto the clips though - I think I needed the plastic (Elite) type but managed to use the steel +2 ones...

I make them 143 cm x 1.5 cm. They don't fit right to the arch...about a 2 cm gap at each end.
