Rear Seat Belts

Hi,
I'm looking for rear seat belts for a Elan 2+2S 130/5. The interiores are in oatmeal.
I read somewhere that they were an period optional, but it seems that they're not available anymore!! Does anyone had installed them? If so where do you get the seat belts?

I have an oatmeal +2 also and am getting around to
putting in rear belts.
Would be intered in hearing how you get on with getting them
in.
I also was considering putting in 3 point belts in teh rear, connecting
the top parts to the top of the rear chassis towers.

I too have the Spyder kit. It makes it easy & safe to attach the rear belts. I am currently using only one of the two top mountings on a 3-point harness belt for my 4-year-old, as this seems to line up best with the seat.
Tim, where did you get your 4-point harnesses, and how much were they please

I got my 4 points from Total Restaint Systems. They have the advantage of not having "sown in" top attachments so you can use the ones that Spyder provide that allows the top fixing to lay flat.
I think they cost about ?40 each
Kids love em, its "like being in a real racing car!"

Does anyone knows if when this cars were new if the seatbelts for the rear seats were an optional? Or are they a newer upgrade? If they were an period optional, does anyone have some photos of them.
can you send me some photos of the spyder kit installed?
In the end of this I think I will write a book about rear seat belts fos a +2.

The rear belts were optional at least in the later cars. My 73 plus 2 has had the mounting plates in place since new though no belts ever fitted.
I have looked at lots of Plus 2s over the years and never seen any cars fitted with what looked like orginal fitment rear belts so it looks like the option was not taken up to often.

The seat belt plates were bolted to the fibreglass body. Inside the rear wheel well for the outside belt connection. The inside plates were on the inside of the chassis tunnel where the Y fork start at the rear and no connection through to the chassis.
Attached a photo of the rear. You can see the plate at the lower front corner of the wheel well.
There was no shoulder sash mount as only lap belts were intended I think.

It looks horribly like you have the struts on the wrong sides of the car!
