Temperature gauge

Just wondered if anyone could offer a little advice on a problem that I'm having at the moment.

My temperature gauge is showing between 115 - 120c but I?ve checked the engine with a separate gauge and that is showing 85 -90c in the engine bay.

I changed the temp sensor and the voltage regulator but no change.

Anyone any idea's

Check the earths onto the instrument voltage regulator, temperature gauge and the engine block, if this doesn't sort it then it's probably a gauge fault.
