Bonnet metal hoop, when was it introduced?

My two earlier S2's that had the big Marsten Radiator had the dual springs. The S2 SE 5738 has the smaller radiator and a single spring. Although let's keep in mind thus car was rebuilt after a wreck by some very poor body shop in 1976.

Thanks Frank, but it was specifically the introduction of the improved bonnet sometime in S4 production that it would be interesting to pin down.
The centre spring and Triumph rad' was a much earlier change.
Any more S4 owners with original S3 style spring attachment plate out there?
