Best of luck finding that black escutcheon. I carried a sample around for several years to car shows and fairs.
Eventually Steve Broad on here gave me one. I haven`t forgotten that.

I have just found them listed under -Body Fittings- in the parts list of `The Imp Club`.
Look it up.

Andrew,
my best guess is that the either the connection to the door pull is off or the door handle mechanism is dislocated. However, you should be able to reach the mechanism thru that hole in the door. Try the door pull lever first, it‘s fairly easy to reach. If that is not working (it should), then you have to reach for the door handle part of the lock mechanism.
