Odd Quote - maybe a touch of truth?

Here is what I removed all those years ago. There are no markings anywhere on the tank or bracket although it looks like it was painted at some point so if there was a label stuck on it isn’t there any more.

Any idea what the tank came from - it doesn’t look like a 1950s or 1960s Ford unit.

I suspect that it is the case that production cars were not fitted with separate tanks but as with everything Lotus there is always that slight level of doubt.......
