S3 3 point seat belts

PostPost by: rcombs » Tue Feb 05, 2019 6:08 pm

I got my belts out and took a look at them and found out they are only 2 point lap belts. I suspect that Mazzini is correct about the originals failing.

Dan, I did speak with Sue at FDTS Ltd and they can restore your belts. As was stated, the original webbing is not available, but they have a very close substitute. She gave me a rough price of 75-100 pounds each plus shipping.

Mazzini, did Teleflex make the reels only or the entire belt?

Thanks,

Rick

The entire rig. I'll dig mine out and photograph them, if you like?

Marzzini,

If it's not too much trouble some pictures would be great. I've always wanted to know what type they were, and what they looked like.

Thanks,
Rick

Belts.....I had my P1800 static belts redone by a Cessna shop who has specialized on aircraft interiors. The light blue colour was spot on. For my S3, which did not have belts when I bought it, I sourced light grey belts from http://www.oldtimer-sicherheitsgurte.de . They look period and are not expensive at all. I know the Kangol static/ magnetic belts from my youth...my mothers 280 SL Pagoda had them....the car is still with my dad, sans belts after restoration.

Thanks for the photos. I've never seen any pictures of them before. I had always assumed they were a version of the Kangol belts.
