I'm surprised that I didn't receive your PM, I'm not sure what that's all about.
Sorry I can't help you out with the glove box. Mine is RH and I need it for the person who is making my dash.
I hope you find one,
Mr.Gale
P.S. My car is 26/3749. Ours must have come over on the same boat!
Mr.Gale:
Can't seem to reach you with a PM so was wondering if you,or anyone else, would consider the sale of your LH box or a loan of it so that I could pull a mold. I've been in the fiberglass business and am confident that I can return said box unharmed.

Darn!!! [keeping it clean]
Anyone have a loaner?? I would expect to have to compensate!?
Kurt.

Hi Steve,
I've just noticed that rather new-looking rubbwe lid restrainer. Do you, or anyone else, have a source for it?

Hi Meg,
I agree that the lid check strap looks new but it's been on the car since at least 1973 - so it is in all probability original.
I said to my wife only a couple of days ago that a new strap would be impossible to find.
Anyway I found these:
http://www.bykebitz.co.uk/motorcycle-lu ... strap.html
http://www.boatoutfitters.com/retainer- ... doors.html
I've no idea how long the Bikebitz strap is.
The BoatOutfitters strap looks best and could perhaps be shortened to the 4.5" overall length required by re-crimping.
The best solution might be to make a strap from control cable, covered in black insulation and fitted with a couple of small ring terminals.

Hi Robert,
I've just purchased a Lucas 3 position switch on eBay for the princely sum of ?4.99.
It is part number 31788D:
I've also just taken a photo of the light switch fitted to my car:
This also is a 31788D.
According to the parts list the same switch was used through S1 to S3.
Are you sure that you need a 317880 and not a 31788D?
I must admit a "D" and an "0" can be easily confused especially on the switch fitted to the dash - but the "0" in the adjacent "70" clearly shows the difference.
Also the dash thickness at the switch location is only about 3mm because the back is recessed to receive the switch.

Well spotted Steve and thanks. A quick google and ebay search tells me I won't have any trouble finding a replacement!. Robert
