Hi Steve, your photos are small and I could not see the details. It looked like the one side has the gap you mentioned. Here are pics of my door. There is a stop on one side that I had added a brown felt cushion that I used on a cabinet door to cushion the wood on wood noise. It keeps the door flush when closed.
