How do you close your bonnet/hood?

None of the above.
My car was modified in 1983 so that the two bonnet catch cables were removed and a key lock fitted at centre top of the bonnet. This has a long tongue which goes into a metal re-in-forced slot in the skuttle.
There's no spring down at the front, so it does tend to mean that the whole bonnet is lifted off even for trivial actions in the engine compartment.

On my plus 2 I also use the lean in window, pull latch technique. Although I gently latch bonnet on off side first with a firm push.

Hrmmmm, anyone heard the rumour that excessive pushing/pulling of the the hood is bad for one's eye-sight ?
ps I'm a lay across and place a hand on each corner kind of guy....adopted the same pose trying to persuade it to open again after shutting up shop with the spring disconnected!
......it even makes my mini look big!.....
