Take it easy with the nut splitter Richard. Don't put too much force on it
or it will distort the shaft ass'y of the wiperbox, probably nipping up the
wiper spindle.
Did you not try the junior hack? I think that would have been my pref' method. A slight 'graze' / damaged area on the shaft/threads would make no difference. I think this would do less damage than the splitter.

For the record-the passenger side washer nozzle can be got at by removing the dash bolts only-reaching up for the butterfly nut effectively deflects the glovebox out of the way.

I've just come across the same problem too, trying to remove them as I'm sanding down the body for a respray but both wiper nuts won't budge so looks like I need to go and buy a nut splitter too .
They are the only fittings left on the body as well, everything else came off pain free
