Clicking from the bulkhead

Got it - it was the boot earth.
There are two bolts that come through the boot floor. When I put a jump lead from the left bolt that the battery earth goes to & connected it to the right bolt the clicking stopped & the started turned.
You know my next question - why the two bolts - is one for the earth to the rear lights?

The 2 bolts hold the chassis to the body. The bolt the battery was earthed to the chassis has corrosion under it so the connection is not being made. The jumper to the other bolt which appears to be well connected to the chassis bypassed the problem. Take out the corroded bolt clean it and its mounting point to chassis underneath and reinstall.

Rohan,
Thanks alot - the bolt heads & washers were gunged up also the red paint that some replacement chasis were covered in was rather thick round the holes in the chasis. Problem sorted.
Actually managed the whole job without jacking the car uo with just my fell running head torch for a bit of light.
Any good at wiper faults - see new post.
Regards, Andrew
