S2 Door lock

PostPost by: prezoom » Sun Sep 15, 2024 4:02 am

Here is a small question for a tiny part. The little plastic extension that fits on the locking stalk has been missing from my S2 ever since I have owned the car. The part does not seem to appear in the parts manual I have, if any one knows the origin, or where I may be able to find one, it would greatly appreciated. If NLA, I guess it is time to fabricate one out of a piece of Delrin or something similar. Thanks in advance.

Rob, if you are talking about the little plastic bit on the end of the window locking lever then I don’t think it is a separate part, I think it’s part of the locking lever.
It is similar to the plastic bit on the toggle switches and I think you could probably fashion one from one of those, see this thread.

Thanks Brian, was hoping it might be a separate part from some obscure older British car. Had thought of trying to find a wasted toggle switch and cannibalizing the part from one of those, or perhaps two so I would have a matching pair. As a temporary measure, it looks like it will be a fabricated Delrin piece.
