Federal S4 Boot Hinge Brace

I have 2 right angle tabs on the bottom of my Federal S4 DHC boot hinge brace. They appear to line up with the fuel tank straps. Do they hook under the straps or fit above the straps? Do I add a short piece of heater hose or foam over the tabs to soften the contact?

The fuel tank shouldn't have straps. There are simply three studs protruding from the bottom of the
tank through the body. Do the tabs line up with the hinge locations?

I just realized maybe you're referring to the extra tank that sits in the void between the strut
towers, that some cars received. If so, is that tank held in by straps? Can you provide a picture?

The primary tank on my Federal S4 is not on the floor of the boot, but is located between the rear strut towers and is attached with two straps. A smaller tank is attached to the left.
