paint on door hinges

I'm restoring a 1969 Elan Plus2. Originally, were the door hinges painted body colour or left with the cast metal finish.

Mine were painted, I suspect they were in place when the car was sprayed.

Believe they were originally zinc plated …… then covered in overspray in later life!
Sent mine for BZP along with other bits and pieces.

I had the original paint under mine so I don’t think they were painted on the car, and so mine are natural now Gordon
