Starting a new thread to hold all questions for you all regarding the work to get the body parts repaired. See https://lotuselan.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=50917 for front image thread.
Next on the list is this area in the boot. A PO had a rotoflex separate which caused this damage. There is a repair but the contours were not made and the bracket for the spare tyre cover is absent.
1. What’s the approximate size/position of this piece? Is it a screw-down for the plywood?
2. I believe it’s sandwiched in between the 3-4 layers of mat there?
Any assistance, with images if possible, is appreciated.
Jim

there would be a pin catch to hold the plywood floor in that area (pin attached to the underneath of the floor), matching the height of the spare wheel (and the tank, more or less...)

The bracket for the boot board is a simple piece of angle with a spring clip to receive the ball pin on the board. The bracket is riveted or screwed to the front trunk wall just below the ledge. I'll see if I can find a photo.

Thanks for the assist. The thread reference has an image, with drawings of the three boot pieces.

Jim,
How would you like a 3 D model, or an actual Elan to touch and see how it needs to be fixed?
I have both my Elans on the other side of the state, just north of Daytona, if you'd like to see how its supposed to be.
PM me and we'll see what can be done.
Roger

Body shell update.
All seven pieces have returned from the media blaster. Given the state of the car having been in a damp environment for so long, media was the best way to get the thing clean.
First for reveal: sadness. The revised theory holds when the right front accident occurred a fire resulted. The damage extends from the right side windscreen deck, down the firewall and along the right side of the bay to the bonnet brace, and down over the wheel well. The prior repair was a skim and paint.
We were hoping to renew the jigsaw puzzle of the front, but given the degraded state of so much GRP we have to at least consider a right #3 panel replacement.
