Chassis numbers

So I've found three numbers on my Elan S3 chassis, and two make sense.
There's the chassis number itself, located on the upper flange in front of the right motor mount.
Then Lotus part number for the chassis 26A701 located on top at the front edge of the center box tube.
And finally 2129 on the lower right flange almost directly below the chassis number. See photo
The last one is the mystery number as it has no relation to the chassis number or anything else I can think of.
Any ideas?

I, too, have a lower flange number, in the 9XXX range. I call the upper flange number
the VIN (or chassis number) and the lower flange number simply a sequential chassis build number. Maybe
Tim W will chime in here.
