I've been putting off starting the many body repairs needed to bring my 1968 Lotus Elan S4 SE back to life. It all seems a little daunting.....However, as they say you have to start somewhere and the first area I'm going to repair are the headlamp bowls. I think they offer an easier way into grp repair for a relative novice, I have some experience owning a few Westfields, but not to the skill level needed.
......Anyway here's a look at the units and what I need to repair.
Part two will show how I repair them Gulp!!!!!

Good luck with it. I might suggest rather than practise on your own items you try and get hold of any form of used or broken fibreglass items, from reliants, etc.

Good to see a new video, and glad you're progressing.
I'm half a step ahead of you on the bodywork, no more. After feeling similar fear of attacking the fibreglass, I just went for it - work in progress but I've got much more confidence now. Ultimately, you can replace/remake just about anything. The Miles Wilkins book is the bible.
