Just one comment: before placing the frame back into the door, check if the glass moves freely up and down, and well into the top channel.
In my case the rubber fitted well, glass moved up and down (not very freely, but same as before). But it was too tight in the top channel, so I removed one "lip"(?) from the rubber, and all was better. Less effort for moving, and glass entered into top channel.

The flocked rubber channel I fitted had a ribbed rubber face that stopped it from popping out.

Its quite a while since I fitted new rubbers to my S4 frames but the attached document shows some of the versions available at the time.
The factory has used glue when the car was manufactured but I did not need to use any.

Yes the Paul Adamson Special is still in use.
I gave it that name because Paul gave it to me but neither of us can remember who supplied it to him.
Put 'Adamson' in the search box on this site and his identity will be revealed. He is a long time Lotus owner and although a Lancastrian is a important member of CLOG
