glue or resin

Hi on my +2 I have what looks like delamination at the bottom of the door opening.What would be best way of repairing this glue or resin.

Is it dirty in there? That would cause problems with either glue or resin.

I would clean out the join (abrasive paper?) and then use resin, epoxy would be fine too,

Good clean + Acetone then resin and as much Glass Fibres as you can force into the gap.
The strength is the Fibres not the Resin.

Having a bit of composite experience on my Climax Elites, Elans and Sevens. My repair procedures for the de lamination of the joint is: 1. remove all excess external paint 2. use a fine blade hack saw to clean up both interior joint sides. 3. Spread the declamations with some wooden sticks. 4. Air blow out all the remaining dust. 5. swab with acetone, twice. 6. mix a batch of chopped 1/4 inch fibres using epoxy resin. Epoxy resin has a substantially better mechanical bond than polyester. 7. Force the peanut butter mixture into the voids. 8. remove the wooden spacers and finally, if the two sides have not closed, use some small C or spring clamps. Epoxy resin requires minimum ambient temperature for the cross linking to continue. Please read the instructions. Hope this is helpful. Cheers. Mike, in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Short of chopping your own, with epoxy I use these adhesive filler microfibers as you see and there are different ones but I usually use 403 and from the boating industry and great for what to do with fiberglass bonding and all, Gordon Sauer

In the UK Isopon P40 can replace epoxy chop in Mike Ostrov's method.

+1 for West Systems epoxy line from end to end. With the fillers you can dial up the consistency that you are looking for from light cream to peanut butter. Great stuff. Minimal shrinkage. Edit: ....but for this application, I'd keep fillers to a minimum and use short glass fibers with the epoxy. If you build up the thickness at the repair it could lead to stress and further delam on either side.

I don't think P40 is good for this. It needs Resin and matt to obtain a laminated structure. Not too much Resin.
What do Boatyards use when the Bonding breaks down

I have done this repair with 3M Panel Bonding Adhesive 08115 - clean surfaces with PPG DX or SA 330 acrylic clean . I also use clamps .
