Parcel shelf clips

I bought some parcel shelf clips from Sue Miller, I don’t have old ones to compare them against but they don’t look quite right and are definitely different to SJSportscars. Photos below, 1st Sue Miller’s 2nd SJ’s
Since I’ve not seen these fitted I’m guessing at how they fit/work. So the clip end with the barb pushes onto the fiberglass and I presume the parcel shelf pushes into the ‘V’ part of the clip??? Although I’ve not fitted them, it doesn’t look to me that there is much to stop the shelf dropping out of the V. Also, what is the purpose of the right angle bit on the end, much longer on the case of the Sue Miller part?

Hello,I fitted some from sj sportscars a few years ago.As well as support from the carpeted petrol tank cover there doesn’t seem to be a lot of support from these clips. The long section will be facing the front of the car.hope it helps.Steve

Thanks for the photos Steve, I’ve fitted them now, they don’t look like they will do an awful lot, I guess the support from the tank does most of the job these clips look like they are more intended to prevent any rearward movement of the shelf rather than offering support.
