Bobbins

PostPost by: McBiter » Sat May 16, 2020 4:01 pm

Really out of interest I wanted to know why the headlight bobbins are threaded? Other than to prevent their moving from side to side I cannot understand why a shaft with nylon washers and a simple split pin might not work..

I'm looking for prompts as to why I can avoid drilling out and then re-threading both the nacelles and body.

Cheapness !

Standard bobbins with UNC bolts in single shear !

I've upgraded mine with a common shaft.
