Not sure where to best post this, but my 50 came in parts including two boots as shown.
The rubber one is new but seems a little uncomfortable.
The used vinyl one seems more authentic and probably better in use, although needs remaking, perhaps in leather.
Any coments including serviceability and originality appreciated.
Regards,
Bill

Stick with the rubber as it keeps fumes etc out of the cabin, if you prefer the look of the leather boot fit it over the rubber.

I’ll second the vote for the rubber one. My early Plus 2 has only ever had one like that and they do seal out fumes well.
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine!

Mine had the bellows type when I bought it. Also has a chrome trim ..this is shown on page BMS of the parts manual although the rest of the page is a later trim... so may have been fitted during a change over to 'S' period. The bellows are the original, the rest has been re-plated.
Personally , I like the 60s vibe of this type.

My 1970 +2S when I got it, had a vinyl non-concertina gaiter. From looking at pictures I gathered it was non-original (perhaps even home made) and it was one of the first things I replaced. I guessed the original had split and it was replaced with something that looked more modern. It could also have been to cover up the lever which was a bit rusty, but it looks OK after polishing (not bad enough to replate).
