Hi
What kind of door mirror do you have in your elan? I like the racing mirrors but the quality in mirrors is bad. Where can I buy a good door mirror?
Regards

There are loads of mirrors available.
Personally, I thought that for my S2 R, these ones look the part:
These are made by Peter Denty (no affiliation, but they are hand spun aluminium and first class).

I have had difficulty mounting mirrors on the driver's door. i have tried the bullet style and also the Sebring style and find that the field of vision does not work. I cannot adjust the mirrors close enough to the vehicle to make them useful. I have tried a stick-on fish-eye that is not very satisfactory but at least I could see who is in the blind spot.
Finally I have moved the mirror forward onto the fender so that it is viewable through the left side of the windscreen and that gives a decent field of vision.

Gentlemen
My car is still a project, but as such it means that I collect hundreds of reference photos in the paddock of race meetings !
Here are the photos that I can provide. The car is the Graham Wilson car prepared by Wolfe Racing:

I have done a similar type mount on my +2 with different mirrors. Works well for driver side mirror and on the +2 it completely the wrong spot for the passenger mirror.

Is this a bodge? It's a Vitaloni with a cut off wide view disc stuck on it. I have them on both sides. They look OK from about 20 yards, but they work great. I put a lot of miles on the car and just want something that works well in traffic.

The mirror furnished with my 67S3/SS is a Talbot Berlin Jr. They are spun brass, then chrome plated. They can supply with either flat or convex glass. Aardvark also sells all models Vitaloni.

My S3 came with a bullet type mirror on the door, with nil vision. Restoring the shell, I couldn‘t bring myself to drill into the fresh paint. I am now using a clip on bullet mirror with a custom aluminum bracket fixed tothe window frame. The higher position of the mirror gives good vision for me.,
