Here is a photo of a NOS replacement part:
And a detailed view of the joint:
Looks like the joint doesn't carry through to the door aperture edge?
So it looks like the brackets allow the front edge to be folded approx 30 degrees & the last bracket stops the board from tearing?
The whole idea is to allow a lot more foot space around the pedals?
