I've added another video of my Elan S2 assembly, this time showing the boot lid or trunk lid detail.

Thanks for this latest video Paul.
I enjoy your calm presentation and the time taken to present the details which are of great use to the apprentice Elan restorer like myself, especially as mainly solve mysteries that are forgotten the great Buckland, Ross/Robinshaw and the workshop manual.
Some special requests for the next episodes (I also have a S2) if I may...
- door lock mechanisms
- window winding mechanisms
- door window guides / seals etc
- original passage points of the fuel, battery cable and wiring
- re-assembly of the steering column
Many thanks

I will definitely make videos of the door locks, window mechanism, window guides, door seals etc. and the steering column; I can't wait to get to these parts. I should be putting the wiring in soon and I will get some video of that.
I'll have a go at getting the fuel line route. Please have a look at the chassis video, hopefully you can see some of the fuel line routing in that.

Does your paint have a clear coat on top?
There is no clear coat on top. It's painted with two pack for both the primer and the top coat (the top coat is a solid colour as you'd expect), so no clear coat is required. The paint shop applied a colour coat on the primer then rubber this back to flat it then a further colour coat. He did say they add some clear to the last top coat to give it extra gloss; not sure if that's a normal technique or if it's something they have developed over the years.
Glad the videos are proving useful to other S2 owners.
