Imho if you fit Mirrors the Tex ones seem the easiest. They should fit over the Bullet Mirror holes.
Also in the base/plinth of the Tex maybe drill holes to match the existing holes in the Door.

I like the look of those. Elseezed, that base-angle is interesting. Are you a bit on the tall side? I am, and my still-unmade choice of mirrors will be affected by my ability to see properly in them.

How far from useful are yours when fitted ?
Can you make an angled shim [hard rubber / nylon, polished ally or similar] to sit between the base & the door ?
or relieve the area where the adjustment is made

If that question was for me, quite far from useful. My car has one mirror of the Sebring style, mounted very close to the surface of the door. It?s in terrible shape anyway so it?s going to be binned, but it lacks sufficient rage of adjustment for me to see much anything other than the side of the car. Something a little higher-up and farther out and having a larger glass surface would be ideal, and adding one to the passenger side is definitely going to happen.

Average at 5' 9".
P.O. Fitted Tex mirrors but they were painted white and a bit rusty, hence replacements.
Fitting the bullet mirror using the existing holes I realised there was no adjustment. I used an existing rear fixing hole and adjusted the mirror as seen, had to repair the original forward fixing hole.

+1 for the Tex mirrors. They have a reasonable range of adjustment and are available with both flat and convex mirrors. I have them mounted on the doors of my Sprint and they are almost as good as the door mirrors on a modern car.

With the Tex Mirror there exists an angled base in chrome or black plastic. I think the angled adapter was developed for the MGB because the top of the Door is more angled.

Ben, I think we are about the same size. Here are a couple of pictures of my driver?s side mirror. It works OK. Mind you, I have my driver?s seat moved aft a bit.
From refreshing my memory on the ?net it is a:
Tex Classic Torpedo Racing Mirror
MTR01 Flat Glass
Polished Stainless
Glass diameter 95 mm
Base dimensions 95 x 30 mm (max)
Hole centres 50 mm
It seems the mirror base on this model works for both sides.
Based on the discussion here I think I will buy a second one for the passenger side. I did not realize convex glass was available in a matching mirror, and I could not get a decent view with the flat glass model when I trial fit this one on the passenger side.
MTR02C Convex Glass is the passenger side model.
