Dash build, unknown brackets

Elan plus 2 '68 (pre S).
Just trying to finish putting my dash together and have a few questions....
Do the window switches sit on shims, they seem to catch if held directly against the back of the dash. I'm assuming they fit from behind and the chrome part isn't fitted after, from the front... Is this correct?
I have a couple of brackets that I can't identify and think are from the dash.
1) 7" X 1.25" with two captive nuts (seem to be 3/16" UNF and two pairs of additional holes
2) small z shaped bracket with 2 holes. Quite like the one that secures the fuel filler neck.. but I have that one already fitted.
3). Small forked L shape.. not sure where this is from, suspect it's not the dash.
Any help welcome, regards, Adrian

Hi Adrian,
Not sure but, just by looking at it, wonder if the rectangular piece is something to do with the dash mounted radio?
My turnlock radio measures 7" by 1.5" with 5 and one eighth between spindles.
Just a thought

I think the Bracket with the slot and Screw is fitted to the Cross Tube under the Bonnet. Its right angled Foot supports the Bonnet and stops it from sagging. You will find a Bracket welded to the Bonnet Cross Tube that it attaches to.

Thank you for the replies so far. I'll measure the centres. Yet to fit the bonnet and the support frame is currently separate... Probably end of next week before I can do more..

The pair of larger brackets fit at the rear of the dash at the lower outer edge. The switches are supported on wooden spacers at the rear made from 1/8 inch ply and 2 inch wide. The angled bracket is from the front centre of the bonnet support tube and used to align th height of the fibreglass before riviting to the frame.

Thanks Tony, this bracket is larger than the two that screw on the back of the dash. I have those and the two angled brackets that the courtesy switches attach to. .. at least I think those are the ones you mean. Useful info on the switch mounting. And I would never of thought of the bonnet mounting.. not sure I can see how the larger bracket would work with a radio

Hope you don't mind me revisiting this.
Bracket (2). I think I have this sorted. Lines up with marks on the original dash and if you look very carefully in the parts manual section BB . Shown just inside the glove box , this. It stops the lid from being pushed past the closed position.
Shown below fitted to original dash.

Gjz, thank you. Looks identical but I'm not sure that's it for a +2 (68). The throttle pedal is a tubular rod and I think the resting (idle) stop is where the rod contacts the threaded hole where the cable comes through.
Not the best of pictures.. hopefully you can see the cable.
.
There were other suggestions that it is related to the bonnet height.. hopefully assembling the bonnet by the weekend..

like the same part is used for different purposes. Sorry.
