Elan Sprint stripe decal

PostPost by: Black&WhiteElan » Thu Aug 13, 2015 10:40 am

Hi, I'm new here

Looking for a stripe decal to replace the old one that went bronze and peeled at the edges. Dual colour Elan, and I'm hoping for no wording, just a plain stripe like the factory did for me originally.

Had the car from new.

If you look through this (rather lengthy, I'm afraid) thread there are some suggestions for stripe supply.

Are you saying that the car was supplied by the factory with plain stripes and does the photo show how they were fitted? That is something I've not previously come across.

Welcome to the forum.

Well that's a bit different I must say, thanks for posting the photo. Is it a Sprint that you ordered as a special in that colour combination?

There will be a very interested member along shortly no doubt who is a wealth of information on Elan Sprints who will politely ask you for more details for his web site and personal records http://www.lotuselansprint.com/

Also there are a couple of members here who make replacement stripes and can accommodate what you need, I believe that a set of plain stripes was ordered just last week which is very unusual and then you come along a bit like buses!

I'm sure the stripe makers will make themselves known shortly, but send me a private message and I will put you in touch if you wish.

Welcome, and do tell us some more about your car.
Kindest regards

I'd like to learn more about how you have the color combination and stripe.

Very striking and unusual. Are the wheels also original? They also look to be gold.

Yes, welcome.. I'm new as well and so far so good!

V interesting looking car and great you have owned from new (suppose the picture was one and only time on a recovery truck?). I fairly recently replaced the decals, for the same reason, on my 71 sprint from Paul Matty, but mine are standard.

That looks really nice - I suspect they'll struggle to get that price with the Sprintesque colour scheme but someone will like it.

I wonder how much it would cost to paint the bottom half to match and add a thin gold pinstripe on the join line. Could look superb!
