Our Elan does not have passenger/driver door seals fitted but I have several different styles of seals in a box. What is the cross section shape of the correct seal and where/how is it applied?
Thanks for the assistance.

Marc,
The S2 door seal is sort of a peaked oval/round. I'll attempt to better describe it... Generally oval or round in shape, but has two flats that come to a peak. The angle of the peak is quite large, nearly flat, say 135-150 degrees.
Hope that helps.
It is available from Dave Bean.

Thanks Kiyoshi, I do have that seal. Does it glue to the body or to the door? Body I would expect.

Marc-
I glued mine to the door with good contact cement. Got mine from Tingle, but it's identical to Kiyoshi's description. I've never seen one glued to body, but I could be wrong.
Now for my related question: Where do you get the seal at the top of the door next to the windshield post area? I've never seen it available anywhere. What does it look like?

Paul, Brian,
Thanks. Now I feel confident where this thing goes. Today, Ken at Dave Bean Eng. also said he would send a pic of a used door which should be the ticket. Pics the last owner took before restoration show what is obviously a wrong solution, a bodge job. Glad i asked.
As to a seal at the top of the door. I can't locate anything on a parts list image I have. It appears that the pie shaped door seal wraps all the way around the top front of the door turning to the rear. I don't see anything else in that area.

For my Elan, I've got most of my rubber from MacGregors. He has had extensive experience in the interior design group at Leyland and had an Elan as well. Try asking him.
