As far as I know, there were two types of lifts used. All of the S1 cars I have seen (including mine) have a bent piece of sheet metal that is folded over the top edge of the window with a tab you lift up on. It had a bolt/screw that went through the glass to hold it in place. I don't know that these were used on any other cars since they were such a simple piece to make. It appears that they were formed using a press - not much to it.
The other variation that I have seen in some books was an oval shaped chromed lift that didn't wrap over the top of the glass. I think this may have been used on the S2 models. I am not sure if these lifts were every used on the S1 or where they came from.
I know this doesn't really answer your question, but you may be able to make one or have it made locally since there isn't much to it.
