1966 S3 Seatbelts

PostPost by: Vanden Perre » Mon Nov 03, 2003 7:09 pm

I want to remove the existing seatbelts. (Irvin Air Chute). Can someone help?
How do I remove the fixation on the drive shaft tunnel? Do I unscrew the bolt from the inside of the car or do I have to access a nut (our whatever) on the chassis from beneath the car?
Thanks for helping.

The center tunnel is tapped and threaded for the seatbelt attachment. Use plenty of penetrating oil.

:) Thanks for your answer.

Olivier.

PS. I had a look on your web side and on the picture of the restoration of your car. Great job!!

My belts have a plastic piece that gets pushed over so that the belt end can be removed from the bolt without removing the bolt. It makes for easy removal of the belts if you are just cleaning them or having them rewebbed. If you are replacing them with something modern just unscrew the bolt (after drenching with penetrating oil if it has sat for a long time).
